It happened, and it didn't happen

After hearing many stories about slide outs leaking around the edges while they were slid out in heavy rains I was worried that my side and rear slide might leak. I spent a lot of time looking at the seals on my slide outs on my Maxlite. It seamed to me that R-Vision did a good job designing and installing the seals on my unit. There is a seal on the inside and outside of my slides. I was always concerned about the first night of rain while camping. Last night, while camping in Niagara we got some heavy rains and thunderstorms. Not a drop of water came in. This morning I went out and inspected the tops of my slides and they were completely dry. I am a happy camper.

RE: Rear Slide Bunk TT"s

Maxlite (R-Vision), Rockwood Roo & Shamrock (Forest River), Outback (Keystone), Malibu (Skyline), Spree (K-Z), Kodiak & Aerolite (Thor Industries). There might be more than this.
We like our MaxLite and feel it is well built. We also really liked the Spree, but it was more than we wanted to spend. There are many brands out there with this floorplan. We choose the MaxLite because we felt it was the best built, has powered slide outs, is 8' wide, and was priced competitively.

Radio turning on by itself???

Ok, my TT must have a ghost in it. I bought my '06 MaxLite 24RS used in January. I put my battery in it in early April. We didn't take it on a trip until this past weekend. When we got to the campground I noticed the radio was on. I went in a shut it off. Just thought that maybe the bouncing from the trip caused it to come on. When we got home Monday I spent the day emptying the trailer and doing stuff around the yard. The radio was not on at all on Monday. Tuesday when I got home from work and had the kids in the yard playing, I noticed the radio was on again.
What gives??? I know for sure at no point was anyone in the TT to mess with it. The radio in my TT is a Jensen. Looks like a car radio. Ideas?

RE: Water heater blues........

3. It does sound like your WH is in bypass, probably as a result of winterizing it. That probably means that the main tank is empty. If that is the case, DO NOT TURN IT ON. The heat on an empty tank can ruin it.
I completely agree. Sounds like it has been bypassed

RE: Will a canoe on a car roof improve gas milage?

Honestly I did get about a 1.5 mpg improvement with my canoe up on my roof while I was towing my previous TT. I have not tried with my current TT.

RE: Refidgerator too cold

Thanks for the suggestion. I shut the fridge of all day yesterday and allowed it to warm up. Then I made the adjustment and turned the fridge back on later that night. When I went out there today the drinks were frozen again.

Refidgerator too cold

I started up the fridge the other day on our new to us TT. I put some drinks in there to keep them cold that same day. The very next morning I went to take a look and noticed they were starting to freeze. I noticed a little device attached to the fins in the back of the fridge that you slide up and down to make it warmer or colder (slide it up to make it colder, slide it down to make it warmer). The device is slide down as far as I can get it, yet my drinks are still freezing up.
Ideas???

I never knew how to eliminate it, but so I didn't have to clean the splashing the first faucet I would open was the tub.

I'm not sure which is better...

I'm not sure which is better...Looking at the TT once it has been completely washed and hand waxed. Or drinking a cold beer once it is done.

RE: THE 2008 TAB

I had a similar problem many years ago. You mentioned you went out in Feb. Was it in frezing temperatures? In my situation a little moisture had gotten in the line and frozen to where no propane made it through. Have you tried it again since Feb?

RE: Broken vant cap

Are you referring to the plumbing vent cap? If so they are easy to replace. Sometimes you can just replace the cover on top and leave the base there. If you have to replace the whole thing that is pretty easy too. To replace the whole thing, carefully strip away the sealant around the cap. Remove the screws. Replace the cap. Screw it down. Put Dicor sealant around the base. It is that easy.

RE: Live & Pull Summit 22RB with Chev Blazer V6

I used to pull a 21' Roo with a 2000 Chevy S-10 4.3 V6. It had a tow rating of 5400lbs. I put a HD transmission cooler on it. The Roo weighed about 4000 lbs. fully loaded. The S-10 would pull it ok on flat ground. Any hint at all of a hill or any wind at all and it did not do well at all!!! I would highly recommend against it, especially going across country as you plan to do. I know it isn't what you wanted to hear, but I thought you should hear of a similar situation.

RE: Tryied Waxing and now have a mess.

This might be a stupid question, but did you wait for the wax to dry before trying to buff it off? I use Mequires liquid wax all the time and it works great on my fiberglass TT.

Products to help in hooking up???

I am sure this has been discussed before, but since I wasn't really sure how to search because I don't have a fiver, I thought you good people could help me out. My parents and grandparents both have fivers. One of the biggest frustrations they have his hooking up. Their problem is they cant see from the cab if they are aligned correctly and if they are at the correct height.
I know there are products out there to help in aligning and hooking a TT up, but I was wondering what products might be out there to help in hooking a fiver up???
Thanks
